Publication Ethics
PUBLISHER'S ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine the journal's name, scientific scope, publication frequency, and accreditation status.
Determine the composition of the Editorial Board.
Define the contractual relationships between the Publisher, Editor, Reviewer, and other parties.
Respect the confidentiality of contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
Implement norms and regulations regarding intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
Review journal policies and communicate them to authors, the Editorial Board, reviewers, and readers.
Establish a code of conduct for editors and reviewers.
Publish the journal regularly.
Ensure the availability of funding for sustainable journal publication.
Develop cooperation and marketing networks.
Handle licensing and other legal requirements.
EDITORIAL ETHICS
Continuously improve publication quality.
Implement processes to ensure the quality of published manuscripts.
Uphold freedom of expression.
Maintain the integrity of authors' academic records.
Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
Assume responsibility for the manuscript's style and format, while the author remains responsible for the content and all statements made therein.
Actively seek and accept feedback from authors, readers, reviewers, and Editorial Board members to enhance publication quality.
Evaluate the impact of publication policies on authors and reviewers, and refine these policies to foster responsibility and minimize errors.
Maintain an open mind toward new ideas or viewpoints that may differ from personal opinions.
Avoid stubbornly adhering to one's own views—or those of authors or third parties—in a way that compromises objective decision-making.
Encourage authors to revise their manuscripts until they meet the standards for publication.
REVIEWER ETHICS
Accept assignments from the Editor to review manuscripts and submit findings to the Editor to assist in determining the manuscript's suitability for publication. Avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have a personal involvement or conflict of interest.
Protect the author's privacy by not disclosing the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.
Encourage authors to improve their manuscripts by providing corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.
Prioritize the principles of accuracy, novelty, and originality to foster scientific development, practical application, and innovation.
Decline to review a manuscript if it falls outside their area of expertise; ideally, recommend another reviewer who possesses the relevant expertise.
Re-evaluate revised manuscripts to ensure they meet established standards.
Do not use the manuscript under review for personal gain; furthermore, any use of the manuscript's content requires the author's permission.
Review manuscripts in a timely manner, adhering to publication guidelines and scientific principles (e.g., data collection methods, authorship legitimacy, conclusions, etc.).
AUTHOR ETHICS
Assume responsibility for and contribute to the planning, drafting, data collection, data analysis, data interpretation, revision, and overall integrity of the manuscript.
Discuss authorship attribution at the outset—especially when there are multiple authors—to prevent disputes.
Disclose the sources of funding and resources for the manuscript.
Obtain permission from the relevant parties before using copyrighted material from other publications.
Disclose any limitations of the research.
Promptly notify the editor or publisher of any errors found in the manuscript.
Respond to reviewers' comments professionally and in a timely manner.
Inform the editor if the manuscript is to be withdrawn.
Respect the publisher by refraining from publishing the manuscript in other formats or media prior to its official publication.
Declare that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not currently under consideration by another publisher.
