AN ANALYSIS OF TABOO WORD IN THE FILM “ADVENTURE OF ALADDIN, 2019”
Abstract
This study uses qualitative descriptive as a method to describe the conditions that exist in the film. In addition, this study also uses quantitative methods to support data interpretation by presenting fixed percentages in numerical form. The data is in the form of uttarances, while the context of the data is the dialogue spoken by the characters in the film.the data sources is the film Adventure of Aladdin 2019 video. Data were collected by selecting dialogues containing taboo words. The main istrument of this research is the researcher, while the secondary instrument is the data sheet. The result of this research is sated as follow: firstly, one of types of taboo word occurs in the characters utterances in film Adventures of Aladdin 2019, that is Offensive Slang types. From 12 data found in the film, all the data is Offensive Slang type. Secondly, one of function of taboo word occurs in the characters utterances in film Adventures of Aladdin 2019, that is to show contempt. And from 12 data found in the film, all the data is to show contempt function.
